In this day and age its important to know where things come from, how they are made, and even who sells them. All the goods are unique but they hold a commonality... find out what.

Every morning I climb the narrow twisting stairs to my attic studio. Actually leap is a better word, because I can’t wait to see what spirit creatures will make their appearance that day. Like life, paper mache is a slow, surprising process: first there’s the shaping of creatures from globs of clay. (or crumpled plastic bags or plastic bottles or any other stuff) Next comes covering the forms with ripped up pieces of old newspaper soaked in glue. If it’s rainy, it can take several days for the strips of wet, sticky paper to harden. There is something magical about the lightness of paper mache figures; That is why I cut the hardened paper mache off the clay, and seal the pieces back together with more paper mache. Sometimes the figures paint themselves. Other times I have to paint them many times before the colors are right. Once that happens, they seem to spring to life. That’s when I know they are done. Denjong means sacred, hidden land. It is the mountainous state, also called Sikkim, that borders Nepal, Bhutan, and Tibet. As the story goes it was given this name by the man, Padmasambhava, who brought Buddhism to Tibet. He helped tame the wrathful, Himalayan spirits residing in Denjong and in turn they blessed the land. Bountiful rain, unique flora and fauna, dense and lush jungle all contribute to these Organic, Loose Leaf, Himalayan (High Altitude) Teas. Their flavor and aroma are rich, sensational, and unmatched.
